ILA Strike Postponed

After meetings Thursday with the director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, USMX released that both sides have agreed to a 30-day extension of the Master Contract. Therefore, removing the thought of a possible ILA strike this weekend.
For the time being, PHA will proceed with normal business operations for all terminal operations at container facilities. There will no longer be extended gate hours at Barbours Cut and Bayport terminals. The gates will be closing at normal hours until further notice.
Although not all negotiations have been settled, all of us here at Gulf Winds are thankful for the recent outcome and hopeful that negotiations will be made in a timely matter.
