Christal Hancock

Senior Customer Service Manager

I would say I am an easy-going city girl with country Alabama roots. My husband and I have been together since high school. We have two competitive, free spirited kids Kailey 13 and Braxton 9. You can usually find us on a ball field or court, we all love sports, Football, Volleyball and Basketball. I enjoy watching live music of all kinds from blues, classic rock, country to just a DJ.

I enjoy working at Gulf Winds because it feels like family. We have a great team and we are fortunate that we are looked upon as people and not just a number.

If you had to describe yourself using three words, it would be…

  • Loyal
  • Pleasant
  • Passionate

Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did that person teach you?

I would have to say my parents. Although they lived in separate states between Texas and Alabama they both have always been there for me no matter what, and I must say I probably kept them on their toes most of the time. They both worked hard day and night to support me showing me that it’s never going to be easy but, you push on, put a smile on your face and never give up. They taught me the importance of being honest and showing respect for others.

What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?

I would say I would take this right from my Southern grandparents. I’ve learned so much by just listening to them and their stories. Manners will get you a long way like: Please, Thank You, Yes Sir and No Mam. I can’t leave out BLESS YOUR HEART. It is ok to talk to strangers and treat everyone with respect. Walking through life at a slower pace is ok. We often get so wrapped up in the whirlwind of everyday life that we miss out on what’s important. No one owes you anything you earn it. A little class goes a long way.

How you got into this line of work?

I stumbled into this line of work by luck I would say, not knowing much about this industry and having to learn everything from what a chassis was to how the full Logistics Chain works. I’ve been hooked ever since. This is such a faced paced ever-changing industry, one day is never the same as the next.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

Dolphin all the way, they like to showoff and have fun, explore the oceans, intelligent and they take up for each other.
